We are proud to say that “giving” is part of the culture of the Schechter School of Long Island. While our faculty and staff dedicate themselves to guiding our students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, our families and friends offer tremendous support year after year as well. The education we offer our students in and out of the classroom is dynamic and ever changing. You make that possible and ensure that our programs will thrive.

At SSLI we believe that Torah is indeed the inheritance of all Jews (morashah kehillat Yaakov), and that enabling its study is our highest priority (talmud Torah k’neged kulam). At the same time, we recognize that tuition affordability represents the single greatest impediment to choosing day school education for most families. As a result, we have made it our goal to provide financial assistance to all those who need it. In order to make that goal a reality, however, we require the support of the entire community, those with and those without children in our school. The more that you give, the more students we can impact.

There are many opportunities to make your gift to Schechter personally meaningful. Please consider a gift to SSLI today.

The concern for the Torah education of all the youth of the community, with no distinction between rich and poor, is not only a portion of the obligations thrust upon the leaders of a community; rather, it stands, without doubt, in first place among their obligations, and other matters retreat before it. Leaders of a community who did not do everything in their power to see to it that all the children of the community, rich and poor, can study Torah as required, have failed to fulfill the obligation that they took upon themselves before God on a matter that is of supreme import and the greatest holiness.Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch (1873)
